Calories in Chinese Food |
- Most Chinese food is high in calories
and very high in fat. Up to 70-80 per cent of its calories come from
fat. To reduce calories when eating Chinese foods, follow these tips:
- Choose mostly vegetable foods.
These are usually lower in fat and calories.
- Choose boiled/steamed rice, NOT fried
rice.
This alone can cut calories by 50 per cent.
- Watch your portion size.
The bigger the portion, the higher the calories (and fat).
- Do not be tempted by high-calorie extras
like fried noodles or spring rolls.
- When in doubt, order soup, a vegetable
main course with steamed rice and of course tea!
- This way you can enjoy Chinese food
without wearing the calories on your butt.
